Trout-Stocked Waters
Visit PA ranked Slippery Rock Creek as one of the best trout-fishing spots in Pennsylvania! While we agree it’s one of the best places to cast your line, Butler County is full of great places to fish.
Rose Point Park Cabins & Camping invites you to cast your line and hook trout from their property off the Slippery Rock Creek.
Throw your line from the dam, but stay away from the spillway at Glade Run Lake, a state stocked lake in Valencia with a handicap accessible pier!

Lake Arthur
This 3,225-acre lake at Moraine State Park has a variety of fish species, including bass, pike, muskie, channel catfish, hybrid striped bass, and panfish.
With over 40 miles of scenic shoreline, fishing from the bank is also very popular. The tributaries of Lake Arthur include over 75 intermittent streams, which are good for trout fishing. Boating rentals are available through Crescent Bay Boat Rentals (Open Memorial Day - August 15).
Conditions permitting, ice fishing is permitted from January 1 - March 15.

Glade Run Lake
This Valencia lake is stocked with trout by the state! You can choose to fish along the lake's shoreline, in an un-powered boat, or in an electric-powered motorboat. All fish, with the exception of trout, are catch-and-release. Click here to read up on the rules before you throw a line!
Graham Park Fishing Pond

Licenses & Regulations
Hook a big fish, not a big fine
- Pennsylvania offers several tourist and resident license options—from a one-day permit to a lifetime license. Licenses can be printed from a home computer through the “Outdoor Shop” at huntfish.pa.gov or purchased physically purchased at some hardware and tackle stores or chains like Walmart.
- Each year, Pennsylvania opens Trout Season with Mentored Youth Trout Day! Youth anglers need a Mentored Youth Permit OR a Voluntary Youth Fishing License from the Commission and to be accompanied by an licensed adult angler to participate. Anglers 16 years of age or older need a fishing license to fish in Pennsylvania.
- PA Fish and Boat Commission Fish-for-Free Days allow anyone (resident or non-resident) to legally fish on Pennsylvania waterways on designated days- no fishing license required!
